Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Megan bid farewell to her first baby tooth this weekend at the mature age of 7 years, 5 months. She didn't get her first baby tooth until her 1st birthday so we knew she would lose them late as well. Still, she was ecstatic to finally reach this milestone that all her school friends experienced much earlier.

The tooth had been loose for a couple weeks and was barely hanging on for the past day but Megan wasn't too keen on pulling it out. Elizabeth had been monitoring the tooth situation as well and she thought Megan would only be able to eat soup after her tooth fell out. :) In the end, Daddy did the dirty work and after a little drama, Megan was delighted to be done with it. The itty bitty tooth went into the pocket of her tooth fairy pillow and before bedtime last night, I asked Megan how much money she guessed the tooth fairy would leave her. Megan thought about it and answered, "Probably about $2." Brian was relieved she didn't expect $50.

The Tooth Fairy took Megan's tooth and left S$5 in the pocket - two $2 bills and a $1 gold coin. Megan was pleased with her prize and I'm happy she lost the tooth before traveling to Langkawi tomorrow or the Tooth Fairy might have left her Malaysian Ringgits instead.
