Underwater Egg Hunt

We woke up to a clear blue sky Sunday morning, a treat after having too much rain on weekends recently. Brian spent the morning wake boarding and I was looking forward to pool time with the girls. Between rain and illness, it had been a week since we had been swimming.

Our ordinary plans took an exciting turn when I heard from my neighbor Sam that the egg hunt moved indoors during the Easter rain would finally occur at the pool. An underwater egg hunt sounded like a great twist on the traditional hunt. The only issue was how to weigh down the eggs so the big kids could dive for them. The attractive granite landscaping rocks provided the solution. The original plan was to have the kids dive for the eggs and then give them candy for each egg they found. But, one week later, no one had Easter candy left to hand out, so the kids were just diving for rock-filled eggs.
Megan on the Hunt

Megan had a great time diving for eggs in the deeper part of the pool. Elizabeth dove underwater by the steps to retrieve her fair share while Emily plucked eggs off the surface. I wondered if Megan and Elizabeth would be disappointed that the eggs only contained rocks but I should have known that they wouldn't care about the filling - it was all about the hunt!

I'm thankful to have a great neighbor like Sam who enjoys planning social events for the community and that we were able to participate in our wettest egg hunt ever!
