Cinco de Mayo

While Cinco de Mayo gets no recognition in this part of the world, I couldn't resist organizing a casual fiesta at our condo with friends. I invited 3 families over Tuesday evening -- the Scotts, O'Sheas, and Conatys -- and we had a great time. I was pleased that the weather cooperated with our plans so we could spend the evening outdoors. Everyone contributed to the meal so we had tacos with all the fixings, margaritas, tres leches cake and banana quesadillas. The kids swam until long after dark while the adults enjoyed conversation and frozen drinks. Thank goodness Jason discovered an outdoor power outlet for the blender! The evening left me feeling especially thankful for the new friends we're making during our adventure over here.
