Dumplings with Daddy

One challenge of having your children at different schools is that their holidays will inevitably fall at different dates on the calendar. While SAS is off for Spring Break at the end of March, Emily's preschool already had their mid-term break a couple weeks ago. Thankfully her teacher Ms. Barb reminded me of the holiday because I didn't have it on my calendar and likely would have been irritated when the bus didn't pick up that Monday morning! Once I realized I would have Miss Emily home with me for an entire week without her sisters, I knew we needed to make a few plans. First on our agenda was lunch with Daddy.

Raffles City Tower is one of my favorite malls in Singapore and we often meet Brian there because it's a quick commute both from home and from his client's office in downtown. The local Accenture office is located in the tower as well and when his parents visited, we met Brian there for dinner at Din Tai Fung before his evening meeting at the office upstairs. Our girls love dumplings and won tons and ever since that evening, Emily constantly asks when we can meet Daddy again for dumplings.

So, we started off Emily's mid-term break with dumplings with Daddy. Aside from the sheer delight of dining with her daddy, Emily ate nearly our entire order of pork dumplings. Next time we'll know to order more! After lunch, we drove Brian back to the BHP office downtown to deliver cookies we had baked that morning to share with his team.

It was a great way to kick off Emily's holiday week...
